Those visiting monasteries in Dobrogea would have to ignore the common glory of Cercheză. Vovidenia Monastery, built in the eighteenth century, is the only monastery of nuns old rite in the world.
In the eighteenth century, the area came Russian monks who, not having a place for prayer, they built a small wooden church. After a while, this place came believers old Russians – lipoveni – who pua Russian Slava village bases. The monks withdrew wooded area where they built another church, all wood, the place where the monastery is currently Uspenia.
By 1994, the two old Orthodox monasteries, Vovidenia and Uspenia were unique in the world, until they founded two old places of worship rite in Suceava county.
Currently, there are two churches: one dedicated to the Mother of God high and one low (for winter) dedicated to the Mother of God of Kazan icon.
